Methods
How commodity treatment works
The commodity, the target pest and the destination's requirements decide the method. These are the options and where each applies.
- 01Gas fumigationThe standard method for sealed containers, holds and warehouses. A gas penetrates the entire stow instead of treating only the surface, so it reaches pests deep inside packed cargo.
- 02Controlled exposure and ventilationExposure time is set by commodity, temperature and target pest, followed by monitored ventilation and clearance before the space is released.
- 03Heat treatmentUsed for wood packaging material to the ISPM 15 standard, and for commodities where gas is unsuitable. No chemical residue, and the timber is marked on completion.
- 04Residual and space treatmentFor the warehouse structure itself, not the stock, treating the racking, voids and fabric that reinfest new consignments after the old ones are cleared.
- 05Certification and documentationThe certificate issued has to match what the consignee or port authority expects. We confirm the requirement before the job starts.

What documentation do you issue?
Fumigation certificates for treated consignments and, where applicable, ship sanitation documentation. The paperwork your consignee or port authority requires is confirmed before the job so nothing is missing at clearance.
How long does a container fumigation take?
Exposure time depends on the commodity, the temperature and the target pest, and ventilation follows exposure. We confirm the total turnaround before booking so it can be planned against your vessel or collection.
Is fumigation safe for the cargo?
The method is chosen for the commodity. Some goods suit gas fumigation, others require heat treatment instead. Telling us exactly what is in the container prevents damage and rejected consignments.
Do you work at Jebel Ali and the other ports?
Yes. Work is carried out at port, at bonded and private warehouses, and on vessels, scheduled around berthing windows and gate times.
What is ISPM 15 and do I need it?
ISPM 15 is the international standard for treating wood packaging material used in export. If your consignment travels on pallets, crates or dunnage, the timber usually needs treating and marking to that standard.
